But now, Bruce Springsteen has announced a new world tour, that will kick off in North America on April 2023 and is scheduled to last until July.
Over the years, a Springsteen concert has turned into much more than just that It is an event. it is a show. It is a happening. It is a man tells a story to a devoted crowd of followers, who come out in enormous numbers to listen not only to the music, but rather to lyrics as well. They actually listen to what the man says. Not only a Springsteen concert lasts way beyond the normal 2 hours appearance time, it is an on-going shuffle between the man on the stage and those in the seats, probably standing or dancing throughout.
Springsteen's first two albums, "Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J." and " The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle" were not a commercial success, but along the shores of New Jersey and the East Coast of the United States, the Springsteen phenomenon started to take place in hundreds of live shows. Backed by the powerful rhythm machine the E Street Band has turned into, America has found a new working-class hero. He sang about small town people, hardships, every-day trouble and the American life.
It wasn't until his third album, "Born to Run", published in 1975 and carried by the title track, that everything exploded, and prompted a Rolling Stone music critic to publish the now famous quote: "I saw the future of rock'n'roll. His name is Bruce Springsteen".
Everything kept getting bigger and bigger with albums that followed - "Darkness on the Edge of Town" and the double-sided "The River", before the very personal "Nebraska". In 1984, Springsteen published his best selling to date, the epic "Born in the USA". An incredibly-long world tour that followed saw him move his act from arenas to stadiums, and he has never looked back.
Up to date, Springsteen has released 20 studio albums.
